![]() Costa Mesa Police Department officer, Oscar Reyes passed away on Wednesday, September 12 after a fatal heart attack. He was found unconscious and later pronounced dead at the age of 43. A memorial for Reyes was held September 21 at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove. Reyes worked for the Costa Mesa Police Department for 13 years and leaves behind many including his wife and three children. He was best known for riding his motorcycle around the streets of Costa Mesa and being a mentor in the Police Explorers program offered to high school students. At his funeral service, he was honored by many other officers and his loved ones. Reyes aided in keeping the streets of Costa Mesa safe from harm and has left his mark on those whom he worked with.
